Diese EP habe ich Ende 2024 fertiggestellt. Antiwitz - Holzpunk aus Deutschland habe ich in London geschrieben und aufgenommen, in einem kleinen Studio in Haringey. Alle Instrumente (Gitarren, Bass, Cajon, Percussion) und der Gesang sind von mir, mit Ausnahme des ersten Tracks Gutmenschen, für dessen Gangvocals ich meine alten Bandfreunde Volker und Mteee gewinnen konnte. Volker hat dann auch die Tracks gemastert.
Die Musik ist nicht besonders vitortypisch. Ich hatte noch nie auf deutsch aufgenommen, und Punk liegt mir nicht ganz so nah wie andere Musikrichtungen. Aber ich hatte Lust auf eine Art Ramones ohne E-Gitarren, mit ein bisschen Einfluss von Ton Steine Scherben, und die Musik passte zu meiner Stimmung in Zeiten der neuen Faschisten und des Kriegs.

I am going to post some of my songs soon, I recorded them in a studio and just need to finalize the artwork. In the meantime, here’s my cover of “Mystery Disease” by MGMT which I recorded and mixed at home for a MGMT cover album by the Reddit fan community. For someone who only knows the singles, this is a really obscure track, but I liked using it to try to work on a psychedelic feel. This track has acoustic guitars, a cajon, and vocals. I don’t know how mastering works, so I used Bandlab’s AI which improved the sound.

Another cover, this time to help my dear friend and former bandmate Volker Albrecht deliver a piece for his music production course. He wrote an arrangement for Radiohead's Karma Police and asked me to do the vocals. At midnight, while my wife and kid were sleeping, I set up my slightly crappy mic and sang in the kitchen. The instruments are all MIDI, but they sound quite decent, and I really like the brass.

Devastated by the news of Chris Cornell's death, I would like to share this recording of a Soundgarden cover I played at the Deja Vu in Reading. It's not perfect, but I'd like it to stand as a tribute to an amazing talent.
